KBW Ventures participates in the 2019 Reducetarian Summit

KBW Ventures team members accompanied founder and Chief Executive Officer, Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed, to the 2019 Reducetarian Summit. The annual event, staged at The Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC, took place from September 27th – 29th, 2019, and featured celebrated American novelist Jonathan Safran Foer as the keynote speaker.

The Summit, now in its third year, included an extensive plant-based food showcase, allowing attendees and vendors alike to sample a variety of innovative approaches to alternative snacking, meal preparation, and key ingredients.

The annual event is now in its third year and will be staged in San Francisco, California, in 2020

Prince Khaled participated as a panelist on the first day of the three day event. Moderated by Louisa Burwood-Taylor, Head of Media & Research at AgFunder, Prince Khaled discussed investing in breakthrough food tech together with co-panelists Peter Strugatz, Special Consultant, Green Monday Ventures, Macy Marriot, Venture Analyst, Stray Dog Capital, and Curt Albright, Managing Member, Clear Current Capital.

Burwood-Taylor touched on a number of topics with the venture capitalists, asking them to discuss the rationale behind their respective investments, share predictions on the evolution of food technology and food science, and to give advice to audience members on how to participate in investments in the burgeoning space.

Sponsored by a number of companies including BlueNalu, Quorn and Califia Farmsthe event was also supported by an extensive media partnership roster and endorsed by many nonprofit organizations. The fourth annual Summit will take place on September 11th – 13th, 2020, in San Francisco, California.
